East Africa is a year-round safari destination. The dry seasons (June–October and January–February) generally offer the best wildlife viewing as animals concentrate around water sources. The Great Migration peaks in Kenya's Masai Mara from July to October, while Tanzania's Serengeti sees calving season in January–March. Green season (March–May) offers lush landscapes, fewer crowds, and lower rates.
Every destination on our platform has been personally visited and vetted by our team. We provide detailed terrain and vehicle access information, verified accommodation options, real wildlife sighting data, and honest assessments — so you can choose the perfect park for your interests, budget, and travel style.
These legendary destinations are home to the most sought-after animals on the planet.
The Masai Mara in Kenya and the Serengeti in Tanzania are perfect for first-time safari visitors. Both offer exceptional Big Five viewing, excellent infrastructure, and a wide range of accommodation options from luxury lodges to tented camps.
The dry seasons (June–October and January–February) offer the best game viewing across most destinations. However, each park has its own optimal period — the Masai Mara is best July–October for the Migration, while Amboseli is stunning January–March with clear Kilimanjaro views.
We recommend a minimum of 2–3 nights per destination. For the Masai Mara or Serengeti, 3–4 nights allows thorough exploration. Multi-destination safaris of 7–14 days provide the best overall experience, combining different ecosystems and wildlife.
National parks are government-managed with strict rules (no off-road driving, no night drives). Conservancies are community-owned lands bordering parks — they offer exclusive access, off-road tracking, night game drives, walking safaris, and fewer vehicles, at a premium price.
Most safari destinations require a 4x4 vehicle, especially during rainy seasons when roads become muddy. Some parks like the Serengeti and Masai Mara have a mix of all-weather and seasonal roads. Our destination pages include terrain type and vehicle recommendations for each park.
Absolutely! Multi-destination safaris are our specialty. Popular combinations include Masai Mara + Amboseli (Kenya), Serengeti + Ngorongoro (Tanzania), and cross-country trips like Kenya + Tanzania or Uganda + Rwanda. We handle all logistics including inter-park transfers.
